The learning capabilities of children vary. As we all realized during our days in school, some children learn much faster than others. Many of us belong to the average category, where we learn at a normal rate. Then there are those at the other end of the learning spectrum. These are the children who find it really difficult absorbing the information that their teachers and their books provide them. As a result, these kids often lag behind when it comes to their performance in school.
In any case, parents should always be considerate, sensitive and patient when it comes to their children and their learning capabilities. In other words, they should do their best to know how children learn so they can take appropriate action to help their kids.
If you have children who pick up information like a sponge, then it is your responsibility to provide them with activities that will enrich or enhance their learning. If your child is a bit slow, you should be more patient in providing them the guidance that they need. It would be the height of irresponsibility if you raise your voice or do anything that will not improve their learning, but only force a child to retreat into a shell. It can be frustrating, but it is best not to take it out on them.
You should also known that children learn faster when you provide them with activities at the same time. Studying or learning, after all, can get a bit boring when it’s all about books and lessons. Instead of just letting them sit through lessons and make them open their books from time to time, make them stand up and give them something else to do. Teaching them multiplication, for instance, would be a lot more fun if you get them to play a game where they would race on who gets the answers fastest.
